Digital collage inspired by street cats, their wits and resilience

When living in Cyprus, we adopted three street kittens and fed about 10 others downstairs, outside our apartment building.

I still remember this one little black one, shy and tiny yet so strong and smart. I don't have a good photo of her, so I used this one from an image bank.

For a touch of something special, I added a re-coloured element in this collage from Albert Edelfelt's 1880 painting The Reading Parisienne (see image 3). It's a beautiful sleeve with fine fabrics and lace, something beautiful to frame these cats' dangerous and short lives.
